Position Overview
The Senior Data Scientist/Engineer role involves designing statistical models to analyze voter behavior, developing dashboards, and collaborating with data professionals to improve data quality and outputs. The position offers opportunities for learning and career advancement, with training in programming, cloud services, and business intelligence tools, as well as mentorship from experienced political data professionals. Ideal candidates have 2-3 years of experience in political campaigns, proficiency in SQL or R or Python, and strong communication and analytical skills.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design and implement statistical models to analyze voter behavior and predict election outcomes.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to regularly update campaign staff on key metrics.
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and client managers to integrate diverse data sources and improve data quality.
- Work closely with campaign strategists to translate data insights into actionable campaign initiatives.
- Conduct A/B testing and post-campaign analysis to measure the effectiveness of different strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience:
- 2-3 years, including internships with a must on political campaigns.
- 2-3 years of data-focused querying/programing experience (e.g. SQL, R, Python)
- Managed a small team of 1-2 individuals
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly and persuasively.
- A strong analytical mindset and problem-solving capabilities.
